Dear Vista Grande Families and Friends:
At the beginning of every school year PTA holds its Membership Drive. This is not just for Vista Grande Parents, but anyone who is interested in supporting our efforts to advocate for children.
Our PTA cannot exist without members. Your membership helps to support our volunteer efforts in the areas of Education, Health, Legislation, Community Concerns and Parental Involvement.
Your membership provides the following and more:
- ·Supports PTA on the local, state and national levels
- This past spring and summer PTA held many rallies throughout California, El Cajon included, against the proposed state budget cuts that have affected every school in California.
- We also voiced our concerns regarding changes to school sponsored, field trip transportation that would have impacted Vista Grande Elementary.
- Funding for PTA leadership materials and training
- Funding for insurance, which is required for any PTA-sponsored, school event.
- Supports PTA programs at our school.
- Receive special discounts with your PTA Membership card at select providers. Card will be distributed starting in October 2010.
Last year we received 205 memberships out of 556 students. You can help us increase our numbers this year! Encourage relatives and friends to get a PTA membership. It doesn’t require you to take on a PTA position or serve on a committee. It simply means you are part of the essential majority that financially supports the efforts of the PTA. You can join for as little as $10.00 per membership or make an additional donation.
Be on the look out for our exciting alternative to the traditional fundraising. With our “Show Me The Money” program, that will start September 10th, you won’t need to do any selling!
