Programs at Vista Grande Elementary
PTA provides funding and volunteers to support many programs at our school
Math Club - meets after school on Wednesdays for one hour at the lunch tables. Students work on their math homework and can receive assistance. Students can also play "math games" after finishing their homework. Contact Angie Dirkes jadirkes@cox.net if you are interested in helping.
Art Docents - Parent volunteers teach a planned art lesson and art project to their child's class approximately 1 hour per month. Art lesson are already prepared by the school district and there are instructions to help you. Contact our Art Docent Coordinator Jennifer Saghera ffsonny@cox.net
Running Club - Students run, jog or walk around the grassy playground area to earn "miles". Three laps equals one mile and students can earn "feet" for their keychain for every 10 miles. Teacher participation varies by classroom. Volunteers can also take the class outside to run laps or if the teacher does it, then be responsible for logging the "miles" for the classroom on the internet site. Thank you to our parent volunteer Lisa Warner who coordinates this program.
Did you know.....the PTA runs the "Lunch Fund" so if you child forgets their lunch or lunch money, they can go to the office and borrow money to buy lunch.
